1994 Marae Charter
Welcome Whanau, our marae charter was led out by our kaumatua back in the 1990's. Te Ture Whenua Maori was only being implemented at the time. There have been many wananga between 2023 and 2025 to upgrade the 1994 Marae Charter but for now no amendments have been adopted so it remains in place as the legal guide for our Marae Governance and Trustees. The Te Tiriti o Waitangi Marae and community partners cordially invite you to TE HIRIHIRI O TE RAA, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 1985 Waitangi landfall of the Hawaiian voyaging canoe Hōkūleʻa, the birth of the Hawaiian Tribe Ngāti Ruwāhia, the Maori Voyaging Legacy, and three extraordinary kaumātua, the Late Sir James Henare, Sir Hector Busby, and Hawaiian leader Myron Pinky Thompson.
